Q: Why didn’t you come to my athlete’s game?

A: Two possibilities here.
One, I may have been shooting another game at the time. Or Two. I did not know your event was happening.

Way to eliminate this issue. Get in touch with us and give us game schedules. Give us a call and let us know you would like for us to come and photograph your athlete. $100 gets you a disk of images taken at the game and we make sure to concentrate on your athlete.

Q: How can I get you to shoot our game or event?

A: Just ask, we'd love to come if we don't have any prior commitments! Just email us or give us a call as soon as possible as we tend to get booked many weeks or even months in advance. When sending a message please include: DATE, TIME, PLACE, TYPE OF EVENT, AND WHAT OR WHO YOU WOULD LIKE SHOT. Also include your name and phone #. Q: Why don't you have photos of my athlete?

A: Ok, this is a delicate subject. We hope to have high quality images of your athlete as much as you do. However, in the sports world, as in real life, few things are perfect. Below you will find a number of possible reasons why we may not have a photo of your athlete in our collection.

  • Shadows or other obstruction covering face
  • The image was out of focus
  • Athlete had little game time or was not part of major action
  • Coach or official obstructed view (a big issue)
  • Bad or inappropriate faces made, and we don't wish to embarrass your athlete
  • Umpire/Referee did not allow us to be in the proximity of action

Please understand that it is in our best interest to provide quality photos of every player that participates in each event that we cover, however, due to some of the above circumstances and others that may arise, this may not be possible.

Q: Why does it take so long to get my photos once I place my order?

A: Once you place your order. We color adjust the photo if needed, crop it and add any little re-touches needed. Once that process is completed, once a week or so we send the photos to our professional photo lab to have them printed and they ship them back to us. The lab printing process alone is generally a 4 day turnaround.

Q: When I try to order photos, I add them to my cart but I can’t go any further?

A: This is because you are not able to see the buttons to click which allow you to proceed.
This has to do with your “screen resolution”. Click here to see how to change this

Q: Why don’t you sale just the original digital image?

A: Photographers do not make much money selling digital images unless they sell themto a publication then they would make a little more. To be honest. A digital image would actually be quite expensive if we were to sell the full size image. If we were to reduce the quality of the image so that you could only print up to a 5x7 or so, people would push the limits and try to blow it up to an 8x10 and the quality would not be there. If other people saw the photo all grainy, etc, they would assume that Elliott’s Imaging photos are not good. But in reality, it was just that we lowered the quality for the digital image to be printed to the smaller size of 5x7 and if they saw one blown up to 8x10, they would not know that the photo was printed form a file that was only supposed to be printed to 5x7. In the end, it just makes our company look bad, when that really isn’t the case. As we have received many requests for digital images. We are open to the idea so the athletes can put images on their facebook pages, etc. So we open to the idea to offer digital images for purchase. And at this time, we are taking a poll as to how much one would spend on a digital image and to what size you would like to be able to print up to. If you are willing, please email us miles@elliottsimaging.com and let us know.

Q: Why don’t you take more photos of the Freshmen and JV teams?

A: Action Sport photos are better portrayed when emotion is involved. As freshmen and JV level players are still learning the game, learning their position and learning to really get into the game, the emotion and enthusiasm isn’t quite there yet as their focus is more on how to play the game. Whereas, if you look at a Varsity player, they are a little more seasoned. They are out to be competitive and have fun and they exude more emotional characteristics that really show through in a photograph making for a more interesting photo. If you are interested in having your Freshmen / JV athlete photographed, I would be more than happy to do so. And to tell you the truth, photographs have helped some athletes to see areas of improvement.

Q: Why do you charge so much for a 4x6 when I can print one at Wal-Mart for .30 cents?

A: We as photographers have to take into consideration our time, talent and equipment we have invested.
And here at Elliott’s Imaging, we donate most of our time out on the playing fields to capture photos of these great athlete’s. The School’s do not pay us to be there.
We also have all of our photographs printed at a Professional Photo Lab, which their prices are higher than Wal-Mart’s pricing
